Reseña del libro:
When Frida Kahlo (1907-1954) passed away, her husband Diego Rivera entrusted the poet Carlos Pellicer with the task of transforming their family home, the renowned Blue House, into a museum. Pellicer curated a selection of paintings, drawings, photographs, books, and ceramics, preserving the space as Kahlo and Rivera had inhabited and worked in it. The remaining items, which included clothing, documents, drawings, letters, and over 6,000 photographs amassed by Kahlo throughout her life, were stored in bathrooms repurposed as storerooms. This collection remained concealed for over fifty years until the storerooms and wardrobes were eventually opened. Among the discoveries, Kahlo's collection of photographs emerged as a significant find, reflecting the couple's preferences and inot only is string_containing interestsrough the images but also through the insightful annotations they bear. "Frida Kahlo: Her Photos" provides an opportunity to infer about Kahlo's and Rivera's preferences, to trace their family heritage, and to contribute a fascinating and crucial expansion to our understanding of Kahlo's life and artistic journey.
